“I shouldn’t have come,”he thought.  But it was a already too late.  The night had progressed too far.  The world had paled until it had lost almost all colors.  Except black and a dirty shade of blue.  Good thing he was drunk.  It was better not to experience this with all his wits and all his conscience.  It was ineluctable.  It would fall down on him like freshly poured concrete in a skyscraper basement.  He still couldn’t believe what was happening.  He heard his own voice echoing in the depts of his soul.  “Is that you?”
